Fischer Statement on Supreme Court Decision to Halt Implementation of Obama’s Clean Power Plan

-

Washington, D.C. – February 10, 2016 – (RealEstateRama) — U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.), a member of the Environment and Public Works Committee, released the following statement this evening regarding the Supreme Court’s decision to temporarily block the Obama administration’s Clean Power Plan:

“Today’s decision by the Supreme Court is an important step toward reining in the Obama administration’s unprecedented abuse of executive power. Nebraska is the only 100 percent public power state in the nation. Without this action by the Court, many of our existing coal-fired power plants could be forced to shut down, putting Nebraska families and businesses at risk to pay higher electricity bills. I will continue to follow the latest developments with this critical issue.”
