Washington, D.C. – (RealEstateRama) — The public is encouraged to attend one of the four town hall meetings to learn more about the stormwater bond issue on the May 10 ballot. The meetings will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on these dates:
Monday, April 11 – Gere Branch Library, 2400 S. 56th Street
Thursday, April 14 – Anderson Branch Library, 3625 Touzalin Ave.
Monday, April 18 – Eiseley Branch Library, 1530 Superior Ave.
Thursday, April 21 – Walt Branch Library , 6701 S. 14th Street
Passage of the bond issue would fund projects in 17 specific areas to protect property from stormwater runoff and flood damage, to improve water quality and to prevent or repair failing stream banks. The projects are identified in the City’s Watershed Management Capital Improvement Program and are on a current priority list of storm drainage needs. The projects would be completed over the next two to three years.
If approved, the bond issue would cost the owner of a $150,000 home about $4 a year. A list of projects and more information about the bond issue are available at lincoln.ne.gov (keyword: stormwater).
