$350,000 awarded Wayne Community Housing Development Corporation for Purchase/Rehab/Resell program

LINCOLN, NB – January 21, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — The Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED) has awarded Wayne Community Housing Development Corporation (WCHDC) in Wayne, Neb., $350,000 in HOME funding earmarked for Community Housing Development Organizations (CHDO) to purchase and rehabilitate up to 12 homes and resell them to qualifying low- and middle-income families. The HOME funding is administered by DED.

The 12 homes will be sold to families earning at or below 80 percent of the Area Median Family Income for the county in which the homes are purchased. Each applicant may receive up to 20 percent (or $20,000 maximum) down payment assistance of the homes’ total purchase price. WCHDC serves customers interested in purchasing homes located in Burt, Cuming, Dodge, Thurston, Washington and Wayne Counties.

Since 2004, WCHDC has completed 20 homes throughout northeast Nebraska. WCHDC will continue to collaborate with its partners including Farmers and Merchants State Bank, other lenders, real estate companies, Community Development Services LLC, contractors, and other housing agencies.
